I’d never broken a bone in what’s considered a nice, long life (well into my 80s). Now, in the last third of my life, I’ve had one misfortune after another: a series of falls and breaks—e.g., both hips—with what I call the “older lady’s disease,” twice on the left and once on the right; as well as other bones. Those of you who have been there know the recovery entails months: you have to learn to stand up again; you have to learn to walk again. However, my series of mishaps began to turn into good fortune to meet a therapist named Sylvia. I’m up and around now! She’s a beautiful person, devoted to helping repair other people. I can only hope others are lucky enough to have her for a therapist. I stand, I walk, and use muscles and bones I never thought I’d use again! I wish you good fortune and hope that you’ll have an opportunity to meet this talented, wonderful woman!
